The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Najib Ouj, met today in the interim capital of Aden, the head of the mission of Médecins Sans Frontières, Claire Haddon, and the Director of the Office of the General Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA" in Aden Andrea Riquia.
The meeting reviewed the activities of Medecins Borders in Yemen through the provision of medical services in a number of governorates, especially areas for sheltering displaced people, discussing the organization's plan for the year 2019 and the importance of involving the ministry in the vision of the organization to provide health services and the mechanism of selection of target areas.
The Minister of Planning praised the role of the organization in our country in providing care in the field of health. He stressed the readiness of the legitimate government to facilitate the work of the organizations and overcome the difficulties that may face their relief projects.
The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation also discussed with the Director of the Office of the General Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Aden the coordination activities in Yemen, especially the assistance of the displaced and the scheduling of regular meetings with the ministry team.
Minister Awaj also discussed with the UN official the upcoming visit of the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Liz Grande, and its importance, during which the humanitarian response plan for 2019 and the many issues of common concern will be reviewed and discussed.
