Aden – Saba
A joint meeting today in the temporary capital, Aden, attended by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr Afrah Al-Zuba, and the Minister of the Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, discussed aspects of international and regional support for the country, and ways to strengthen support for the security sector in order to help consolidate security and stability.
The two sides reviewed mechanisms for strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Ministries of the Interior and Planning and International Cooperation, and for utilising regional and international support programmes to develop the capabilities of the security agencies, with a view to enhancing security and stability.
During the meeting, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with donors and international organisations, and the mechanisms for channelling support towards priority sectors, foremost among which is the security sector, thereby bolstering the state’s efforts to consolidate security and stability and support the development process.
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Interior commended the efforts of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in mobilising international support for Yemen and working to relocate the offices of international organisations to the temporary capital, Aden, thereby contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of humanitarian and development work, in light of the violations committed by the Houthi terrorist militia against international organisations, their seizure of humanitarian aid and its diversion to serve their war effort, and their deprivation of citizens in areas under their control of their rights to access such aid.
