Lieutenant General Al-Subaihi urges the removal of all obstacles facing the humanitarian community

Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, met today in the temporary capital, Aden, with the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr Afrah Al-Zuba.

The member of the Presidential Leadership Council received a brief briefing from the Minister of Planning on the ministry’s activities over the past period, including its efforts to strengthen relations with international partners and the donor community, foremost among them the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, as well as the prioritisation of development and humanitarian interventions in line with national needs, contributing to the improvement of services and living conditions for citizens.

Dr Al-Zuba touched upon the Ministry’s current and future programmes and plans, particularly regarding the coordination of humanitarian response efforts and the promotion of the transition from the relief phase to the phase of sustainable development and reconstruction.

During the meeting, the member of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the efforts of the Ministry of Planning and its vital role within the government system in restoring the path to growth and recovery, bolstering confidence with the donor community, and ensuring continued international support at all levels.

He emphasised the need to provide facilities and remove all obstacles and restrictions facing the humanitarian community, and to enable its relief interventions to reach those in need across the country.
