Planning Minister Discusses Strengthening Joint Cooperation with the Qatar Development Fund

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr Afrah Al-Zuba, today discussed with the Deputy Director-General for Planning at the Qatar Development Fund, Haya Al Thani, the Yemeni government’s priorities in the health, education, energy and water sectors.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2026 and attended by Yemen’s Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Lu’ay al-Iryani, addressed the government’s efforts to implement economic reforms and strengthen the role of the private sector, with a view to preparing a joint action programme, furthering the discussion and translating it into practical projects.
The Qatari side reaffirmed the Fund’s ongoing commitment to Yemen, outlining its existing programmes in the water and sanitation sectors.
